I had Leukemia at age 2 and Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma at age 9. This blog was created to bring survivors in our community and newly diagnosed patients and their families together. I am advocating for direct services that can help remove barriers to care. Examples include: counseling, long term treatment effects education, insurance questions, travel issues, housing, and patient navigation services here in WV. I support the cancer navigation effort and the education services they have for cancer patients and their families. Livestrong.org gives you direct support services and helps you with your needs for survivorship issues and questions. Some of the areas that are very important to address: fertility preservation, financial concerns, emotional support, treatment concerns. Please call them 855.220.7777 www.Livestrong.org. Check out the videos: Dr. Harold Freeman, the LIVESTRONG patient navigation center, and my personal story. Thank You and enjoy!!!
